It's that time--from here on out, everyone is called for every rehearsal, unless you are specifically told otherwise. We are now running, and it's imperative that everyone we need be there!
Notes from today's rehearsal:
- Shamus/Larry/Richard--Please try to be at the theatre at 6pm tomorrow (1/20) for dialect with Matt!
- Prologue: Handkerchiefs--Should be in your right hand. Once you're 'dead', hold it straight out in front of you--you should also be facing the audience straight out (not angled).
- Pg 12: Dreamers, when singing, your faces should read "sympathy."
- Pg 14: Dreamers, ensure you're looking at Mary (and looking away) at the proper times. This is a slow, non-choreographed move--meaning, you don't all snap your head and look at her at once. SLOOOOWWWW.
Notes from Adam:
- ATTACK the beginning of the numbers. There's a lot of people coming in too slow.
- Watch your posture. Think "Downton Abbey." Upright, proper, shoulders back and down.
- Be confident, confident, confident.
Random:
- We know there are a few items that are being left onstage (ie, pillow, blanket...). Those things are noted!
- If you know that you are moving a piece, please mime the movement!
- Albert/Taylor: We'll most likely have you bleach your hair blond. Talk to me at the next rehearsal.
- Bios still needed from a few! You know who you are!
- Lines: Call for them through Thursday! We expect everyone to be completely off book by Saturday!
- TICKETS!!! SELL, SELL, SELL!
Tomorrow, we begin at page 29! Thank you all for your patience--it's looking good!! I encourage you all to ask questions if you have them--now is the time to do so!
I also kindly ask that when in the house/onstage/backstage, that you remain respectfully quiet. A dull whisper is fine, as long as it doesn't turn into a roar! It's hard for Sam and I to work with the actors onstage if we can't hear them. :)
